Introducing the SuperFreq
Open Source Clock / CW Generator from 1 Hz to 4.4 GHz
The SuperFreq is the our first item available as open source Test Equipment. It is the ultimate Clock / LO / CW generator, with integrated RMS jitter of <1 picosecond.
Available in April 2009, the SuperFreq will feature:
- Output power levels from +7 to +13 dBm, suitable to drive mixers, quadrature modulators, demodulators, high-speed logic, etc.
- Full source code and schematic block diagrams with pinouts, published under the
GNU GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE
- Selectable external 10 MHz input. I recommend the LPRO-GPSDO!
- Precision low phase noise frac-N PLL frequency synthesis from 1 Hz to 4.4 GHz
- CMOS output: 1 Hz steps to 1.35 MHz, 100 Hz steps to 135 MHz
- RF output: 1 KHz steps to 1.1 GHz, 10 KHz steps to 4.4 GHz
- USB-based solution emulates a serial port and uses intuitive commands
- perfect for automated testing
- Pair with Eval Kits like ADL5375 or ADL5380 for a complete, automated broadband quadrature modulator / demodulator.
